All3 names ad veteran as CEO

The UK’s All3Media has finally named its new CEO, surprising the industry by appointing a veteran of the advertising industry.

The production group behind UK dramas Shameless, Midsomer Murders and Skins has hired Farah Ramzan Golant CBE to fill the top spot, which she will fill from November 5.

Golant is currently executive chairman of AMV BBDO, one of Britain’s largest advertising agencies, and has no TV production experience at all.

Nevertheless, All3Media chairman Steve Morrison said: “She has shown by her achievements that she has the drive, the vision and the inspiration to lead a world-class creative company.”

Golant “also brings over 20 years’ experience of working closely with major broadcasters and advertisers,” he added.

All3 began its search for a new CEO in February, after former CEO Morrison began his succession plan as he moved over to the chairman position.

All3Media counts Company Pictures, Maverick Television, North One Television, Objective Productions, Studio Lambert, Optomen Productions and Lime Pictures among its UK production stable, plus distributor All3Media International.

Golant said All3Media’s “federal structure” was “a critical point of difference from its competitors.” The firm’s management includes chief operating officer Jane Turton and chief finance officer Adam Jones.
