All3 Deutschland rejigged for growth

All3Media is restructuring its German operation, ending the MME Moviement brand, in a move it says will prime it to grow through mergers and acquisitions.

Markus Schäfer, who was appointed CEO of All3Media Deutschland last year alongside his role as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of MME Moviement, will oversee the revamped division and its three production labels.

All3Media Deutschland will now comprise Filmpool Entertainment, Filmpool Fiction and its joint venture with BBC Worldwide, Tower Productions. This follows the decision to close Me, Myself and Eye Entertainment a year ago.

The three prodcos will be led by Vittorio Valente, Iris Kiefer and Arne Kreutzfeldt, their respective CEOs and well-known producers. The company will be based in new offices in Munich.

The group says the structure “is creating the preconditions needed to successfully shape the group’s continued inorganic growth, particularly through mergers and acquisitions.”

Schäfer is also taking on responsibility for All3’s Dutch affiliate IDTV in Amsterdam.

Dirk Koep will become group finance director, Marcus Lee will be general counsel and commercial director and Mark Stehli will be director of productions and corporate development.

Schäfer said: “Our creative and successful producer labels, and the CEOs and producers responsible for them, will constitute our market face in the future, and will play a leading role in our positioning.

“As the umbrella company, All3Media Deutschland will support the producer labels in the areas of finance, legal matters and organisation, and will focus on strategic tasks.

“We intend to actively drive the continued growth of our group forward with measures such as the newly created functions in a producer market which is in a process of ongoing consolidation.”
