African net keeps it in the family

A pay TV broadcaster in Africa has acquired three reality series starring famous families from US producer and distributor GRB Entertainment.

Ananey Communications’ doc series Princes of Malibu

MNet in Africa has picked up Braxton Family Values, which follows the lives of Grammy-winning artist Toni Braxton, her four sisters and their mother, as well as its spin-off series Tamar & Vince, which follows the newlyweds as they balance their music careers with their personal lives.

The broadcaster has also taken Follow the Rules, which centres on rapper-turned-actor Ja Rule and his wife Aisha as they try to keep their hectic household under control.

Elsewhere, GRB has sold Auction Kings, set in an eclectic Atlanta auction house, to RMC Découverte in France.

Israel’s Ananey Communications, meanwhile, has picked up the doc series Princes of Malibu, which follows Canadian musician David Foster as he struggles to evict his two adult stepsons from his 22-acre mansion in the heart of Malibu.
