A+E UK seeks true crime from Avalon

The UK arm of A+E Networks has commissioned London- and LA-based prodco Avalon to make a new true crime documentary series for its Crime + Investigation network.

Avalon will produce What The Killer Did Next (8×60’), fronted by Life on Mars actor Philip Glenister.

The format sees each episode begin with a murder and seeks to find the killer’s motive and discover what kind of person could commit this crime by examining the killer’s behaviour after the event.

Jamie Isaacs, CEO of Avalon Factual, will exec produce the series alongside Diana Carter from A+E Networks UK. What The Killer Did Next was commissioned by Dan Korn, VP of programming for A+E Networks UK.

Commenting on the order, Korn said the show was a “study of criminal behaviour from an entirely new angle.”

“It’s as much a study of the criminal mind as it is a story of pioneering detective methods and dogged policing,” he added.
