A&E, Remini take on Scientology

US cablenet A&E is readying an original docuseries about actor Leah Remini and others who have left the Church of Scientology.

Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath (8×60′) will begin airing next month and features Remini recounting stories of abuse and harassment, allegedly at the hands of the religious organisation.

It also features Remini, star of CBS sitcom The King of Queens, interviewing ex-church members and their families to discuss how their lives have been affected by Scientology, even long after they left the organisation.

The series is produced for A&E by The Intellectual Property Corporation, while Remini is executive producer via her company No Seriously Productions.

“For too long, this multibillion-dollar organisation bullied victims and journalists to prevent the truth being told. It is my hope that we shed light on information that makes the world aware of what is really going on and encourages others to speak up so the abuses can be ended forever,” said Remini.
