A&E lengthens Live PD

A&E Network has ordered 100 additional three-hour live episodes of the documentary series Live PD, bringing the total number in the series to 142.

The commission means the show, which comes from Big Fish Entertainment and airs on A&E on Fridays and Saturdays, will run into 2018.

The crime docuseries follows various police departments from across the US in real time as they patrol their communities, with input from hosts Dan Abrams and Tom Morris Jr.

Using dash cams along with fixed-rig and handheld cameras, the series captures the work of a varied mix of urban and rural police forces on a typical Friday and Saturday night.
