Parasyte: The Maxim is set during a sinister alien invasion and follows a 17-year-old whose life becomes complicated when an invader assumes control of his right hand.

Based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s sci-fi horror manga series, first published in 1988, and produced by Tokyo-based Madhouse, it will air this October in Adult Swim’s Toonami block.

The deal to bring Parasyte: The Maxim to Adult Swim was done with the series’ US-based distributor Sentai Filmworks.

The show began airing on Nippon TV in Japan last October and was also available to stream via Japanese animé SVoD service Crunchyroll in the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa immediately after broadcast.

Adult Swim takes over channel space from fellow Turner brand Cartoon Network every night from 20.00 to 06.00, airing older-skewing content.
