ABC, Marvel plot comedy

US broadcast network ABC is adapting Marvel Comics’ Damage Control as a television comedy, and taken a legal drama to pilot, while cancelling Chasing Life after two seasons.

Damage Control has been given a put pilot order with ABC Studios and Marvel Television producing.

The half-hour comedy series is based on the comic book series of the same name which follows the clean-up crew charged with dealing with the aftermath of super hero incidents.

Ben Karlin (The Daily Show, The Colbert Report) is executive producing alongside David Milner and Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Television and The Firm are working on Notorious, a legal drama that focuses on the relationship between a lawyer and a television producer who attempt to control the media.

Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva) and blogger Allie Hagan are writing the script based on a real-life relationship between attorney Mark Geragos and Larry King Live exec producer Wendy Walker, according to Deadline.

Finally, ABC Family has brought the curtain down on cancer-themed drama Chasing Life after two seasons with the finale aired earlier this week now its last ever episode.

BV Family Productions, Lionsgate and Televisa USA were behind the series, which was adapted from a Spanish-language series that aired on Televisa in Mexico.
