ABC Family to rebrand

ABC Family’s line-up includes Pretty Little Liars

MIPCOM: ABC Family in the US is changing its 30-year-old name in a bid to attract a younger viewership.

Starting in January, the Disney-owned cable channel will be known as Freeform.

The name change forms part of the channel’s strategy to attract viewers aged between 14 and 34.

The channel’s programming line-up, including Pretty Little Liars, The Fosters and Young and Hungry, is expected to stay the same.
