9JKL, SWAT team up on CBS

SWAT has become one of CBS’s most popular shows

US broadcast network CBS has ordered a full season of police drama SWAT and three additional episodes of comedy 9JKL.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, in association with CBS Television Studios, SWAT is proving one of CBS’s most popular shows, averaging 10.36 million viewers an episode since premiering on November 2.

It has now been greenlit for a further seven episodes, taking its total first-season run to 20.

Based loosely on the 1970s TV series, SWAT centres on the Los Angeles’ arm of the elite US law enforcement agency.

It stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman and Alex Russell, among others. Aaron Thomas, Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Danielle Woodrow and Pavun Shetty are executive producers for Sony.

9JKL, a CBS Television Studios production, stars Mark Feuerstein as a freshly divorced actor between projects. It is exec produced by Feuerstein, Dana Klein, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Dana Honor and Pamela Fryman.
