9 Story picks up kids trio

Vivi is produced by Mixer Films

The distribution arm of Canadian firm 9 Story Media Group has acquired three children’s series from companies in Brazil, the US and Canada.

9 Story Distribution International will represent Vivi (26×11′), created by director Alê Abreu and produced by Sao Paulo-based Mixer Films.

The show uses a multimedia animation style that features the use of crayons, coloured pencils, cutouts and real-life imagery.

9 Story Distribution International has acquired global rights to the series, excluding Latin America, where it is set to air on Discovery Kids. It comes after 9 Story and Mixer began work on the show in 2013.

Meanwhile, 9 Story will also distribute preschool show Ruby’s Studio (4×45′, 4×28′), which comes from LA-based The Mother Company and is designed to provide social and emotional tools to kids.

The programme is currently streaming on Netflix in English-speaking territories and is available on American Public Television networks.

Finally, shortform series My Friend Bubbles (52×1′) is from Canada’s TéléQuébec and promotes the socio-emotional and cognitive development of toddlers. The animated show stars a six‐year‐old boy and his playful kangaroo friend. 9 Story Distribution International has acquired worldwide rights to the series excluding French Canada.
