5 Gold Rings circles back to ITV

ITV’s version of returning gameshow 5 Gold Rings.

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has ordered a second season of its gameshow 5 Gold Rings.

The format, created by ITV-owned UK prodco Possessed and Netherlands-based Talpa, goes into production in December.

Hosted by Phillip Schofield, the quizshow involves an interactive LED floor which projects animated pictures that are the basis of each question.

Players place rings on the correct answer, but these become smaller as the game progresses, making it more challenging.

The order follows the news earlier this year that SBS6 in the Netherlands had recommissioned the show after its launch in the UK and Netherlands at the end of 2016.

In April, public broadcaster France 2 announced it would air a local version of the show, while US network NBC ordered a pilot in January.

Talpa Global is the show’s international distributor.
