44 Blue, Iron Ocean dress up Doll series

Angie Dolls

Red Arrow-owned 44 Blue Productions in the US has linked up with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple’s Iron Ocean Productions on a new adult-themed animated comedy.

Going Doll has been created by former fashion model and novelist Miranda Darling and fashion photographer Sophie Edelstein. The show is inspired by Angie Dolls, a series of sketches from the pair.

Iron Ocean, founded by Purple and Hollywood actor Biel, is the company behind last year’s critically acclaimed and Golden Globe-nominated US hit The Sinner.

Going Doll follows a cast of fame-hungry, self-absorbed caricatures as they take over LA and aim to get ahead with their own unique approach to life. The show hinges on a fictional self-help book called Dollface: A Modern Woman’s Guide to Etiquette, Social Climbing, Celebrity and Monetising the Marriage.

44 Blue President and co-founder Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch made the series announcement and will now pitch the project to broadcasters.
