2B docs to be repped by Zodiak

MIPTV: Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media, has signed a first-look development agreement with New Zealand prodco 2B Media.

Zodiak Rights is offering content from 2B at MipTV this week. The company, founded in 2011 by director Martin Cleaves, specialises in factual, observational documentaries and reality programming.

Cleaves was previously head of factual production at Great Southern Film & Television, producing docs for broadcasters including Discovery, Nat Geo, UKTV and Sky in the UK.

The first programmes from the 2B portfolio to come under the deal are Beauty & The Beach (10×45’), and Grand Slam Fishing (13×45’). A Kiwi broadcaster is currently in advanced talks to acquire both.

Beauty & The Beach is a factual series following the plastic surgery professionals who provide treatment for men and women on transformational holidays to Thailand. The show is available as a finished tape and format as production prepares to expand to Spain and the US.

Grand Slam Fishing is presented by angling icon Darren Cleave and features attempts to break longstanding fishing records, and visits some of the most sought-after and dangerous fishing spots in the world.

The deal also includes the third season of Code 1 (10×30’), which airs on TVNZ.
