20th Century Fox TV ups creatives

L-R: Mariel Brooke, Chetan Dave and Jenna Dim

20th Century Fox Television has promoted three of its creative executives across current programming, drama and comedy.

Mariel Brooke has been appointed VP of current programming, while Chetan Dave has become VP of comedy development and Jenna Dim has shifted to a similar role in drama.

The trio had previously worked in roles across the company’s key programming output. Brooke was director of current programming, supervising comedies and dramas such as US network Fox’s The Gifted, The Last Man on Earth and forthcoming sitcom The Cool Kids, as well as Modern Family and Fresh Off the Boat for fellow US net ABC.

Dim was director of drama development, working on Fox series including new title The Passage, The Resident and The Gifted, while Dave was most recently director of comedy development and played an integral role in creating three-season ABC comedy Speechless and Fox newcomer Rel.

The promotions come during a time of intense flux for the TV arm of film studio 20th Century Fox, which is one of the key assets of parent company 21st Century Fox that is part of the longstanding proposed acquisition by Disney.

In July, NBCUniversal owner Comcast, which had tried to hijack Disney’s deal for 21st Century Fox’s assets, dropped out of the bidding war, clearing the way for the Mouse House to complete its deal.
