100 Balas bags director general

Mediapro Group-owned Spanish prodco 100 Balas has appointed the former head of content at Discovery Iberia as its director general.

Alejandro Flórez Rodríguez has joined the Madrid-based company, which is currently producing TNT comedy Vota Juan, starring Javier Cámara.

Rodríguez has more than 18 years’ experience in the audiovisual sector, having previously worked at NBCUniversal, Spanish nets La Sexta and Cuatro, and local pubcaster RTVE.

At 100 Balas, Rodríguez will keep the company’s focus on comedy while building a catalogue of “real life” content, using his experience at unscripted broadcasters such as Discovery.

Following Rodríguez’s appointment, 100 Balas founder and manager Enrique Pérez Vergara will now focus on the creation of new formats for the local and international markets.

100 Balas became part of the Mediapro Group in 2014 and is responsible for titles such as Chiringuito de Pepe, Olmos y Robles, eSports Generation, Geese Soup and VR educational video game Flipy’s Tesla! Let’s Invent the Future.
